Zenga Returns to his Romanian Stomping Grounds

The Rossazzurri’s next test is against Zenga’s former team, Progresul Bucharest, in Romania. Given Catania’s current form, the result should not be in question. Nevertheless, it would be good to see the strikers rotating through. It will be a tough slog this year if they cannot improve on the paltry 33 goals tallied last season.

The squad making the trip includes:

Goal: 1 Bizzarri, 12 Kosicky
Defence: 14 Alvarez, 3 Sabato, 2 Sardo, 5 Silvestre, 21 Silvestri, 6 Stovini
Midfield: 29 Baiocco, 18 Biagianti, 4 Carboni, 10 Dica, 13 Izco, 8 Ledesma, 31 Millesi
Forwards: 26 Antenucci, 16 Catellani, 7 Martinez, 11 Mascara, 9 Paolucci, 27 Plasmati

The bloated roster is beginning to thin, with Julián Di Cosimo having been sold to Paganese and Minelli put on loan to Triestina. Word has it that Terlizzi (notably absent from the trip) is on his way to Chievo.
