Gli Elefanti Coverage on The Offside

Ciao a tutti, and welcome to the Calcio Catania blog on TheOffside.com. My name is Chris, and I’m pleased to announce that I will be providing coverage of Gli Elefanti throughout the 2008/09 season.
Though I’m currently residing in New Zealand, I’m a long time fan of Serie A football, and teams in the Mezzogiorno in particular (I’m of Calabrese descent myself). You just have to love Calcio Catania for their grit and tenacity, and their ability to scrape though and stay in the top flight of the roughest football league in the world. They are the team that just won’t go away. 2008/09 should be an extraordinary year to follow the team; Zenga, Dică, and Ledesma have fans abuzz, and I’ve noticed increased coverage in the media as well.
I see my main role here as a news aggregator, and I’ll be doing my best to bring you the most interesting Calcio Catania stories on a regular basis, with a little smart-ass commentary on the side.
Its just nice to see the Catania logo at the top of the page lit up at last.
