Sergio Almiron Scores Twice To Guarantee Catania 2-1 Victory Over Chievo Verona

Catania can add another win to the season thanks to Sergio Almiron and his two goals on the night. This win moves Catania to 6 place in the table which is a amazing because at the start of the season I really felt that we where going to be in the bottom of the table and fighting to stay in serie A but it looks like I was wrong big time and Rolando Maran is doing great as a coach.

Sergio Gasparin is doing alright so far in my books, lets hope they keep up the great work. Lets talk about the game today.

Catania were the home team and with the fans behind use the boys put on a show. There where so many chances wasted Catania only had 4 shots on goal and Chievo Verona had two which is really bad to say the least for both teams.

Alejandro Gómez was creating on the trouble for Chievo Verona and had 3 good chances but no luck and Perparim Hetemaj for Chevio was giving use the most trouble with great passing and shots on goal. But the game open up in the 51 minute from a corner kick.

Alejandro Gómez took the corner kick and his cross found Sergio Almiron head and Catania took the lead and Control of the game for the most part with Chevio putting pressure when they could but in the 85 minute Sergio Almiron would take the ball in to the box from the side of the box and take a great shot that beat Stefano Sorrentino.

After that goal Chevio went all out with there Captain Sergio Pellissier hitting the post. To finally finding a goal in 92 minute when David Di Michele took a free kick and crossed it in to the box to Marco Andreolli who header it home. But it was to late for a come back and Catania won.

Side Note:

Gonzalo Bergessio got hurt 27 minutes in to the game and Catania put on Souleymane Doukara who missed 6 chances but showed alot of promise with his skill and how he caused so much trouble for Chevio defense.
