Fiorentina And Catania Preview
By: vincenzo | September 8th, 2012
This is for sure a game that I can`t wait for with the return of my Favorited player Luca Toni back in Serie A. I can only hope to see him play against use before he retires at the end of the season most likely. Fiorentina are a very strong and up and coming team once again. With the young and great Stevan Jovetic who is only 22 years of age and is tied for the top goal scorer of the league with 3. For sure the target man on the field and a player who is no stranger to scoring goals on Catania.
Last season scored 2 goals on Catania in the 1 of 2 games. Fiorentina Also have new coach and former coach of Catania Vincenzo Montella who looks like he is building Fiorentina like army strong from the ground up, a team that don`t give up and can play great football.
Fiorentina have some new names and lets see what they bring to the table.
Mounir El Hamdaoui: Hardworking forward makes good runs and chances for other players. We still don`t know what he can do in Serie A but its only time until he shows.
Luca Toni: My Favorited player to start with. Is getting up the in age but don`t let that fool you, in the air he is deadly and makes any defense work when he is using that 6`5 body. He wins alot of free kicks and if plays we will need are big veteran Nicola Legrottaglie to cover him.
Alberto Aquilani,Giulio Migliaccio,David Pizarro,Borja Valero are all good players on and off the ball and are play makers.
Alberto Aquilani picks his passing and can blast shots home.
Giulio Migliaccio is a defense of midfielder but can do wonders on the ball.
David Pizarro has is a veteran in this league and we will have to shut him down to make are odds better.
Borja Valero a player coming from Spain who by the looks of how he played in spain was a huge transfer for Fiorentina and his passing could play a key role.
Juan G. Cuadrado,Matías Fernández both young and talented players and ready to shine.
But you can never count out are boys, the team are full of surprises and look like they have found there wings with new coach Rolando Maran. Its almost like I am watching a new team but with all the same players,as crazy as that sounds.
Gonzalo Bergessio has two goals already, he only had 7 goals last year, hopefully hes ready to bring his scoring shoes this season.
Lucas Nahuel Castro has been great so far as coming on as a sub in both games.Player to watch for.
Pablo Barrientos,Alejandro Gómez; The play makers and goal scorers are major player for are team and will play a big role in this game.

hey catania offside, in the past couple days i’ve been working on starting up a blog that comprehensively covers calcio (serie a and the italy nt), with the idea that there’s not much american coverage of it, so why not be the catalyst. anyways, just wanted to put it out there so everyone can take a look if you like.
the address is http://serieazzurri.blogspot.com
i’ve started an associated twitter in conjunction, the handle is @serieAzzurri, feel free to get at me on it, i’ll follow you.
everything is in its infancy, with a lot of new stuff coming this week, so if you take a look by any chance, feel free to let me know what you think. all opinions, even those critical, are appreciated.
thanks guys,
cheers, serieazzurri calcio connection
