Catania Yearly Report

OK, I never had the yearly report for Catania but it was alredy done in june but I just never had time to post it. Forgive me for the bad punctuation, I got in the moment and did not stop to edited, Here it is every players and how they did this year. Something will sound old, cause it was done in june.

Keepers:

Mariano Gonzalo Andújar: B, This year he only payed 16 games but over all just played ok, he was nothing like last season but after fighting about he was not invited to go to maltla.It looks like he wants to leave. It does not look like he is going to stay with the club but he is a great keeper and where ever he goes the team will be lucky.

Andrea Campagnolo:c-,He is really not at a seire A level keeper and when called up upon was never a rock and letting weak goals in. In the 5 games he played he had a total of 9 goals scored on him. Time to retire, he is the one who played in are coppa itaila game which we lose to Noavra….but if we had a better keeper we for sure could have won.

Juan Pablo Carrizo;A,He saved this team, a number of times this season with outstanding saves, I can only hope that we buy him in the summer because we need a keeper. A keeper who can keep you in a game and give u a chances to win.

Pietro Terracciano,N/A; He only played two games and one was a tie and the other was a lose it was hard two really tell how good he really is judging on two games. But he is young and I want to see more of him as are back up keeper.

Tomás Kosicky: N/A, He played 3 games as well and again its hard to tell how good he really is, but him being 6′6 his reach is a big factor and a big help.He has been on the club now for a coulpe of years and never has got a real chances at a starting 11, I could see him go. so him or Pietro Terracciano as a back up.Had one assisst this season as well.

Defense:

Giovanni Marchese: B+, He played 32 games and had 3 goals and two assists and one of his goals were probably the goal of the season,He got to play 20 more games then last year and had a starting role this year and did it well. Overall good year from the 27 year old.

Ciro Capuano: C, He did not get a big role this year with only 6 starts and sub in 2 times, he had one assists this season, We will see what the 30 year old has in store.I like the player and would like for him to have a role next year.

Nicolás Spolli:A, The strong season from Nicolás Spolli at the back line and had two huge goals these year both goals were game tieing goals one agaisnt napoli and the other on AC Mlian. He is very important player to Catania and might be on some teams list this summer, lets hope he will stay for another season.

Alessandro Potenza:c, only played in 9 games, did nothing great but nothing too bad either. Would of like to see more of him this year but what can you do.

Nicola Legrottaglie:A, He could have very well been the player of the season for Catania,With 5 goals this season and countless saving tackels Mr.Legrottaglie has been out standing this season. He has been able to replaces Matías Auguste Silvestre and did it for half the prices of Silvestre.The 35 year old!!! yes I said 35!! contract ends this June and I will for sure would like to bring him back for another season, we will see what happens to him.

Pablo Alvarez:C, Only played 7 games and did nothing spaical and nothing to bad entheir and went to spain on loan and should stay there and I don’t care what happens to him, If he wants to leave then go.

Marco Motta:C+, He started in 14games this season and played good,He had some ups,playing good on the wing and making chances for team mates but then had some downs getting a red against juventus his team.He will be going back to Juventus but would not mind at least trying to signing a deal.

Midfielders:

Mariano Izco: B,The respected man who wore the captain arm band for half the season had a great year,Not noted for his goal scoring but as a denfese midfield, played good and good every game this season. He played in 25 games and was able to scored one time this season.

Cristian Llama:C+, A man with so much potential,has a hard time with injury’s in the last coulpe years,he only started 2 games but was subbed in 13 times and every time he is subbed in he makes impact on the field, with his skill on the ball or his passing. We could really use a healthy Cristian Llama.

Pablo Barrientos:A-,The Man who is own by the club but never really had a chances to play because he was loaned out for much of his career with catania. Finally had a chances to show Catania he is wroth the 4 million they payed for him. He deliver with 4 goals and 3 assists,known name in Catania and serie A and has got some big name club looking at him. Lets hope he stay for at least one more year if Gomes leaves.

Francesco Lodi:A,He has played another great season for Catania, came last season on loan and we had to sign him last summer because we knew that he is great player and one of the most skilled set piece players in serie A. With 9 goals this season and 7 assist,another player who could go for player of the year. 7 goals were pk and 2 were free kick.

Adrian Ricchiuti:C-,start 9 games and was subbed in 11 times, a player with a huge role last season and not one this season,pick up one assissnt but did not look like the player he was like last season.Last season he started 19 games and subbed in for 12 and had 1 goal and two assist.

Marco Biagianti:C, The man named Captain at the being of the season, started only in 8 games this season and was subbed in 6 times. He started well until he was injured and it took him out for some time,when the time he came back he got a red card and looked like he was not himself after that red I dont remember seeing him play again.

Fabio Sciacca:N/A, The young man only started in 2 games and subbed in 5 games and was good in every game.Next season he should get a chances with catania for a spot.

Sergio Gontàn Gallardo,aka,Keko:N/A…. Had a great pre season with the club but do to his young age did not get chances to play with Catania which I was not happy about, he was loan to Grosseto were they used him as a sub. He could be the next big thing.

Sergio Almiron:B+,When he first came there was alot of talk that he was not going to do much and he is a waste of money coming here at 30 years old, But I had his back and had a feeling that he would do well on Catania. Taking blast from out side the boxes and making other teams keepers work. Sergio Almiron had 4 goals and 60 shots this season. With two years left on his contract I don’t mind keeping him.

Felipe Seymour;B-, Came on loan and played some good football, had some bad moments missing open chances to help use win games. Started 5 games and was subbed in 8 times over all would not mind getting him on loan for another season.

Forwards:

Alejandro Gómez:A-, The most talented player on the team and always plays good for Catania, Had a good season with 4 goals and 1 assist, yes he can do much better with the right team and coming in to this season I expected alot more goals. Some say this is it with the player and company and he will be sold this summer. When a small club get a young and skilled player its very hard to get them to stay when million of dollars are involved. He is a midfeilder but He has played Left wing forward most of the season.Hope he stays with use but you never know.

Davide Lanzafame:C, Coming in to the season it was time for him to get his career back on track, and he for sure did not do that in Catania.He only started 4 games and was subbed in 7 times and got 1 goal this season. And only 6 shots on goal and a red card this season. I want to see more from the player as I know he has great skill.

David Suazo:D,His body is a ticking time bomb and he only was subbed in 6 times this season because he was hurt for most of the season.It was a true waste of room on the team.

Gaston Maxi Lopez:B+, He did alright in his time he was in Catania this season, he went to AC mlian on loan.He started in 9 games and was subbed in 5 times and had a total of 4 goals and one assist. As much as I want him to stay, Its not what he wants, he wants the spot light and the big clubs,we will see if AC Milan buy him.

Gonzalo Bergessio:A+, After watching him game after game, he surly looked to be the hardest worker on the field. This season Vincenzo montella used him in a different way then deigo simmone did, this season Catania would just kick the ball forward and Gonzalo Bergessio would have to run it down and then he had three options feed it to his wingers, wait for the mid to come up the field or take the ball and do it himself.Great job, 7 goals and 2 assist and won a couple of pk and he is another player who could be a player of the season.

Andrea Catellani:C,The man I vowed for and I went on to say he could have at least 5 to 10 goals this season, went on to score one and get one assist.Nothing like I had in mind.He only started 5 times and was subbed in 21times this season. Mr.Montella most of seen what I seen in him to have keep him at least on the bench. Andrea Catellani could have very well scored at least 5 goals but had trouble scoring his first goal of the season which put him in a slump.I hope we keep him because I like the kid and he has the skill and talent which we need.

Osariemen Ebagua:N/A,Came on loan, Subbed in 3 times and never did anything great but never got a good chances like the other players who came on loan.

Vincenzo Montella:A-,Came to Catania with the expectation making sure we stay safe from the relgation zone and oh boy he deliver that Catania were safe 15 games before the end of the season. Which is probably a first that I can remember. But were I feel Montella let down was when they were 8 in the table and had a really chances to make history for Catania because that the best the club has ever got in 8th in the table.The team fell apart lost home games and to teams that we could beat.

Because if you think about it Catania were a point or two away from the relation zone and half way done the season when Diego Simeone came in and Catania still finshed 13th in the table. 2 spots lower then 11, what would of happen if we had Diego Simeone for the whole year.It makes you think.

I can`t take anything away from Montella first full year as coach, Beat Inter Mlian and then Tied them,tied Juventus and Ac Mlian.Keep use in the top ten for weeks on weeks until the 2 last game of the season. It was dream come true to see one of my Favorited players, to coach my Favorited teams.

Pietro Lo Monaco;Well be parting ways with the club after years of being with the club and finding great talent from Argentina, Catania well take a huge lose in losing him.Which could end up having an bad impact for next season.
