Catania Hit First Losing Skid of the Season
By: Chris | November 3rd, 2008So much for predictions.
Pasquale Foggia returned to Lazio from suspension to score a late, great goal which gave the home side a hard-won victory against the Catanese. This officially amounts to a losing streak for Catania, who have played well in two losses, but giving Zenga cause for optimism despite the lack of results. The visitors played stout defence, and would have come away with a clean sheet were it not for Foggia’s inspired goal just 15 minutes from time. For the most part, Lazio offensive threats Zarete and Pandev were kept in check.
On offence, the Rossoblu were forced to shooting from long range for most of the game, and had trouble penetrating the Lazio back line, which has been a liability for most of the season. The loss drops Catania to 9th in Serie A, but they now have a home stand against cellar dwellers Cagliari and Torino ot look forward to.

Is Stadio Olimpico the ugliest football stadium in the world, or what?

Catania played rather well and deserved a draw against Lazio.
