Last Home Game Of The Season

Francesco Totti and his boys are coming to Catania for the rematch; the last time these two teams played it was a great game but one that Roma would end up wining 4 -2. But lets get more in to it, Roma were at home and wanted to come out strong and only 5 mins in to the game is when Roma would strike when De Rossi took a long shot and Catania keeper let a rebound off the save and Marco Borriello would put it in, giving his team the lead. It was a odd goal to say the least he missed kick it and it still went in.

Catania would fight back and both Matías Auguste Silvestre and Gaston Maxi Lopez both had chances to tie but did not on their 1st time around. When it came for there second big chances, Catania had a corner and Matías Auguste Silvestre got his head on the ball, in the 29 min and it passed the line, the Roma player almost cleared it on time but was not able to.

Roma try to get the lead when Jérémy Menez took ahold of the ball and would take a shot from out side the box but was blocked. But it would be Catania who would take the lead when Alexandro Gomez gave Maxi lopez a break away pass and Maxi Lopez was able to socre on Julio Sergio.

Roma knew they had to played strong and had try to tie the game and would in the 47 min when Riise passed ball to Marco Borriello and he headed the ball in the net. But only after watching the replay the ball was out when he passed it, meaning it should have not counted! But it did and it was a hard goal to take but it is them kind of goals that sometimes you get a lucky goal and sometimes you dont. And they got lucky that the side lines man did not see it.

Roma would get a goal in 86min which would be the heart breaker when the ball was passed to Mirko Vucinic and he was able to socre as Matías Auguste Silvestre was holding his jersey. Roma were not done at the end of the game Roma had a 2 on 1 break away when Totti brought up the ball and would pass in to Mirko Vucinic who would beat it away in the top corner. It was a great pass from there Captain Totti.

Overall the game should have ended 3-2 but ended 4-2. The big resaon why we lost was because that Giuseppe Bellusci the center back was not able to contain Marco Borriello.

High lights of the last game

Ciro Capuano and Francesco Totti

Ciro Capuano and Francesco Totti

This time around Roma will be trying to make Champion League and Catania will try to be holding on to a spot in Serie A And both teams coming of wins Roma winning in the 90 min and Catania wining 2-0 agaisnt Cagliari. Catania will be at home this time and it is a different team this time around, with Francesco Lodi dangers with his free kicks, Matias Schelotto all around a good player who never gives up and Gonzalo Bergessio a forward that want to make his name known in Catania, and Nicolás Spolli who is for sure alot better then Giuseppe Bellusci. Roma could be in a for a surprise this time around.

Congrat to Francesco Totti and his 206th goal in Serie A goal and becoming fifth place on Serie A’s all-time scoring list. He is a hero to the Roma fans and to lots of people. I have read in other blogs how other people feel about him and he has his haters and has his fans but in the end Francesco Totti will go down as one of the best Italian football players of all time. I am a fan of his and will always be. But sometimes he does not control his angry (I dont know if you seen in the Roma vs AC Milan, Totti elblow to Mark Van Bommel, the captain should not be doing things like that and should not let his anger get the best of him) but to be able to score 206 goals is something that all players would love to in their career but some are never able to do it, you have to give the guy credit. But if he think about scoring on Catania he have other thing coming, I wish for you to score many more goals but not on Catania.

Overall I will hope this game is like the last one but hoping Catania to be the winners. Lets go boys lets pick up a win at home Catania.

    Good write up, Vince.

It was never easy for us away to Catania – if you remember the last game of the season in 2007/08, it was a must win and we were 1 point behind Inter and second place, but we tied 1-1. Perrotta dislikes playing here very much, I think, because he said there is no control of who comes on the pitch after the game.

Anyway, I am sure it will be a very hard game for us and wonderful to watch! May the best team win!

    Thanks David

    ya but not a 100%

this was a great game today and this time around Catania came out the winners, they both won one time this year against each other. But I am sad that by beating Roma it killed a CL dream,Sorry I know you most of wanted to see them in CL and I did as well

Catania giocato con i loro cuori e tirato della rimonta ed è stato bello da vedere, è stato solo il tempo fino a che abbiamo ottenuto vendetta, ma mi piace anche roma e triste vedere fuori di CL

Really disappointing since you did not need a win or even a draw, but what can we do? :(
